Bloomworks Privacy Policy

Effective 14 October 2026 · Bloomworks is made by Jonathan Ruddell, an independent developer.

Bloomworks is a single-player game. It has no accounts, no ads and no tracking, and it never sells or shares your data. Here is everything it does collect, and why.

Your worlds stay with you

Your worlds, settings and progress are saved on your device. In the iPhone and iPad app, your worlds and achievements are also kept in your own iCloud, so your other devices signed in to the same Apple Account get them. That copy lives in your iCloud account, handled by Apple; we can't see it, and none of it is sent to us. You can turn it off for Bloomworks in your device's iCloud settings.

To remove your worlds, open Menu → About → Delete my data and choose Delete everything. It deletes every world, your settings, achievements and journal on that device and starts the game fresh; when iCloud is on, your worlds also leave your iCloud and so your other devices. It doesn't touch your purchases.

Purchases

The Full Game unlock is sold through Apple's App Store. Apple handles payment, and we never see your card or Apple ID. We use RevenueCat to check whether your purchase is active, which gives the app an anonymous ID. RevenueCat receives purchase records (what was bought and when) and that anonymous ID, only so the unlock works and can be restored.

Anonymous usage counts

To learn where the game is too hard or too slow, the game sends a few anonymous events, such as "app opened", "chapter 5 reached", "tutorial step reached", "how long a chapter took, in broad ranges", "the game recovered from a crash", "the frame rate, in broad ranges", "a feature or setting was used", "unlock screen shown" or "unlock bought". Each event is a fixed label, never anything you typed or the contents of your worlds. The server only keeps daily totals of these. The counts are grouped by day, platform (web or iPhone) and the week you first opened the game. No device ID, world ID, IP address or anything else that could identify you is stored with them. The few things the game needs to remember for this, such as the day you first played, stay on your device. If the game hits an error, it may send the technical error message and code location (with anything you typed, such as world names, removed) so we can fix it; nothing in it identifies you.

Game updates

The iPhone app now and then asks our server whether a small update to the game's files is ready. That request carries only the app's build number, the version of the game files it runs and whether it is a test or App Store copy; nothing that identifies you.

Server logs

Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, may keep standard request logs, which include IP addresses, for a few days for security and reliability. We don't use them to identify or track players.

Children

Bloomworks is suitable for all ages. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date above. You can delete your data in the game (Menu → About → Delete my data, above). For questions, email support@bloomworks.jruddell.com.
